Treating Push Notifications as Sacred

Push notifications were the revolution of fast, always available internet that came with 3G. They made it easy to be on the pulse of the internet; instant gratification for your latest Instagram picture, who liked your Facebook status or up to the second news right on your lock screen.

Along with simplifying my computer setup, when I got my iPhone 5S, I made a note to go through and remove any notifications I didn't need. I still include quite a few but turned off "Show on Lock Screen" on the majority of them. All other bits of information I seek out on my own, so the push notification is unnecessary.
